St. Peter's Church, Valdunquillo

The Church of St. Peter, located in Valdunquillo, Valladolid, Spain, is a historic Catholic church that was once part of the Convento de Nuestra Señora de la Merced Descalza, a 17th-century priory of the Discalced Mercedarians. Established in 1607, the priory was closed in the 19th century, leading to the demolition of its monastic buildings, while the church was repurposed as a parish church. Built in the 18th century from brick, it features a main retablo that replicates the famous 'Lament for the Dead Christ' painting by Antonio de Pereda, originally housed in a museum in Marseille.
