The Edwin

The Edwin is a historic three-storey building in Toronto, originally built in 1905 as the New Edwin Hotel for railway passengers. Located in the Riverside area, it has transitioned from a once-dilapidated hotel to a community housing facility operated by WoodGreen Community Services. Since its reopening in 2010, The Edwin has provided transitional housing for homeless senior men through the 'First Step to Home' program, featuring 28 self-contained units and support services aimed at helping residents achieve economic self-sufficiency.
