Alekseevsky Orphanage

The Alekseevsky Orphanage, located in Pushkin, Saint Petersburg, is a historically significant building constructed in 1905. Funded by a bequest from secret adviser NS Adamovich, it originally served as a shelter for 90 children on its first two floors, while the third floor housed an orphanage for boys. Over the years, it has undergone various transformations, including serving as a refuge for children affected by famine after the October Revolution and later as a military headquarters during World War II. The building features distinctive brick architecture with red facing bricks and light plaster accents, making it a notable cultural heritage site for visitors and researchers alike.
