Hotel del Coronado

Hotel del Coronado is a large Victorian seaside resort completed in 1888 on Coronado Island and is one of the last surviving examples of an American wooden Victorian beach resort. The hotel was designated a National Historic Landmark and has been widely photographed for its red-shingled turreted architecture and expansive wooden frame construction. It has been used as a filming location, notably for the 1959 film Some Like It Hot, and continues to operate as an active resort and landmark.
