Newseum (former Pennsylvania Avenue location)

The Newseum opened its Washington location at 555 Pennsylvania Ave NW in 2008 as a museum focused on the First Amendment and the history of news media; it closed that location in December 2019. While operating in D.C., the Newseum displayed artifacts including sections of the Berlin Wall and exhibits of Pulitzer Prize-winning photography and hosted journalism education programs. After closure, portions of its collection and exhibitions were transferred or loaned to other institutions.
