The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod at 2000 S Las Vegas Blvd is situated inside the corporate limits of the City of Las Vegas, unlike many central and southern Strip resorts that lie in unincorporated Paradise. The STRAT's 1,149-foot tower is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States, and its location within city limits produces different municipal service and regulatory oversight than neighboring resorts to the south. This north–south division along the Strip contributes to the area's jurisdictional patchwork.
