Higham's Buildings

Higham's Buildings, located at 101 High Street in Fremantle, Western Australia, is a heritage-listed site constructed in 1890 during the gold boom. This two-storey building showcases the Federation Free Classical architectural style, featuring a decorative stucco pediment and ashlar effect pilasters. Originally owned by Mary Higham, it was later developed by Edward Higham, a prominent local figure. The building has a rich history, including a fire in 1902 and the establishment of tearooms and a pharmacy in the early 1900s. It was classified by the National Trust in 1974 and is a key part of Fremantle's heritage landscape.
