Boston Massacre - Old State House

On March 5, 1770 British soldiers fired into a crowd in front of the Old State House, killing five colonists in an event known as the Boston Massacre. The incident intensified colonial opposition to British authority and was used extensively in Patriot propaganda. Victims included Crispus Attucks, who is often identified as the first casualty of the confrontation.
