Stardust Resort and Casino (demolished resort site)

The Stardust Resort and Casino, which opened in 1958, closed in 2006 and was demolished by implosion on March 13, 2007, after decades as a prominent Strip landmark. The implosion removed the standing resort structures, leaving the site vacant for several years while plans such as the Echelon project were proposed and later canceled. The cleared former Stardust property was subsequently redeveloped for a new resort development on the Las Vegas Strip.
