Sand Point Naval Air Station (now Magnuson Park) hangars

Magnuson Park at 7400 Sand Point Way NE sits on the former Naval Air Station Seattle (Sand Point), a U.S. Navy airfield that was closed and transferred to city control in the early 1970s. Dozens of hangars and support buildings from the naval base stood vacant or underutilized for many years after the closure, leaving large, abandoned military structures across the site. Over time several of those hangars and buildings have been rehabilitated or repurposed for community, arts, and commercial uses, while others remained unused into the 21st century before selective redevelopment.
