The Palestra, 'Cathedral of College Basketball'

The Palestra opened in 1927 on the University of Pennsylvania campus and has hosted decades of college basketball, including countless Big 5 rivalry games between Penn, Villanova, Temple, La Salle, and Saint Joseph's. It is widely nicknamed 'The Cathedral of College Basketball' and is one of the oldest and most storied college basketball arenas in the United States. The arena continues to host Penn home games and other collegiate events.
