RFK Stadium - longtime soccer and sports competition venue

Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium (RFK Stadium) was the longtime home stadium for Major League Soccer's D.C. United from the club's founding in 1996 until 2017, hosting MLS regular-season and playoff matches. RFK also hosted numerous international soccer fixtures, including CONCACAF Gold Cup matches and U.S. Men’s National Team games, as well as other large-scale sporting competitions since its opening in 1961. The stadium has been a historic focal point for competitive sports in Washington, D.C.
