Cowtown Coliseum and the Stockyards Championship Rodeo

Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards opened in 1908 and is widely reported to have hosted what is described as the world's first indoor rodeo in 1918. The Coliseum remains a working rodeo arena and presents regular Stockyards Championship Rodeo performances and other rodeo competitions that showcase professional and amateur contestants. The venue is a focal point for Fort Worth’s historic livestock and rodeo traditions within the Stockyards National Historic District.
