Pæretræet

Pæretræet, or The Pear Tree, is a historic building located at Nybrogade 4 in Copenhagen's Old Town. Originally constructed in 1729-1730, it served as the residence for the inspector of the nearby royal pawn house, Assistenshuset. The building is named after a large pear tree that once stood in front of it, and features a stone tablet with a relief of the tree. Pæretræet has a rich history, having survived the Copenhagen Fire of 1728 and undergone various changes over the centuries, including the addition of a third storey in the 1840s. Today, it stands as a protected property, showcasing its architectural significance and historical importance in the heart of Copenhagen.
