King Street Station - historic clock tower and restoration

King Street Station opened in 1906 as Seattle’s principal intercity rail terminal and features a clock tower modeled after St. Mark’s Campanile in Venice. Designed by the firm Reed & Stem, the station served as an important Pacific Northwest rail hub and underwent a major restoration and seismic upgrade completed in 2013 that returned many historic interior finishes. Today it functions as a working Amtrak and commuter rail station while preserving its early-20th-century architectural character.
