Yungaba Immigration Centre

The Yungaba Immigration Centre, located in Kangaroo Point, Brisbane, Queensland, is a historic site established in 1885 as an immigrant depot. Designed by John James Clark, this heritage-listed building showcases Italianate and Queensland architectural styles. It played a significant role in accommodating immigrants, with its first residents arriving in 1887. The centre has faced various challenges over the years, including drainage issues and the need for isolation facilities during disease outbreaks.
