Old North Church (Christ Church in the City of Boston)

Built in 1723, Christ Church in the City of Boston (commonly called Old North Church) is the oldest extant church building in Boston. On the night of April 18, 1775, lanterns were hung in the church’s steeple to signal British troop movements, an event famously associated with Paul Revere’s ride. The building remains an active Episcopal congregation and a historic site interpreting its Revolutionary War role.
