Philadelphia City Hall

Philadelphia City Hall, designed by John McArthur Jr. and completed in 1901, is constructed of brick faced with marble and limestone and is topped by a 37-foot bronze statue of William Penn by Alexander Milne Calder. At 548 feet to the statue's tip, it was the world's tallest habitable building from its completion until 1908. The building occupies an entire city block and houses municipal offices, courts, and civic spaces.
