Packard Motor Corporation Building

The Packard Motor Car Company Building, located in Philadelphia's Callowhill neighborhood, is a historic office building recognized for its architectural significance. Designed by Albert Kahn and completed in 1911, it features a nine-story steel frame and terra cotta cladding, showcasing early commercial use of reinforced concrete. Originally serving as a showroom for the Packard Motor Car Company, it later became the headquarters for the Philadelphia Record newspaper until 1947. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and underwent renovation into apartments in 1986, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in industrial history and architecture.
