Fat Oxen

Fat Oxen is a historic house located near Urbana, Maryland, built around 1775. This 1+1⁄2-story Flemish bond brick house, featuring Georgian vernacular architecture, stands on a high rough stone foundation and includes a shorter kitchen wing. It represents a unique blend of English farmhouse style in a region predominantly settled by German Americans. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, Fat Oxen has been preserved with the help of Natelli Communities and now serves as a community clubhouse, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers.
