Sonnentheil House

The Sonnentheil House, located at 1826 Sealy Ave. in Galveston, Texas, is a historic home built in 1886-87 by Jacob Sonnentheil after the original house was lost in the Great Fire of 1885. Notably designed with a focus on interior space before exterior aesthetics, it is believed to have been influenced by the prominent architect Nicholas J. Clayton. The house showcases a blend of Eastlake, Gothic, and Italianate styles, featuring a beautifully crafted double gallery. After being restored in 1976 by Houston businessman Lee Trentham, the house stands as a testament to Galveston's rich architectural heritage and history.
