Texas Theatre (Oak Cliff)

The Texas Theatre opened in 1931 as a neighborhood movie palace in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. On November 22, 1963, Dallas police arrested Lee Harvey Oswald inside the theater following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy; the arrest is documented in police reports and contemporary news accounts. The theater has been preserved as an example of early 20th-century cinema infrastructure and has operated intermittently since its opening.
