Nickel Centre

Nickel Centre was a town in Ontario, Canada, existing from 1973 until its dissolution in 2001, when it became part of Greater Sudbury. With a population of over 13,000 at its peak, it included notable communities such as Coniston, Falconbridge, and Garson. Coniston, originally a farming area, transformed into a company town with the arrival of the Mond Nickel Company in 1913. Falconbridge gained fame for its mining operations and a notable UFO sighting in 1975. Today, the area is represented in the Greater Sudbury City Council and retains its historical significance through its unique communities and industrial heritage.
