Phoenix Art Museum

The Phoenix Art Museum's original building opened in 1959 and the museum has been expanded in multiple phases since then, resulting in a campus that documents mid- to late-20th-century museum architecture in Phoenix. Additions and renovations over the decades reflect changing exhibition and collection needs and give the site a mix of architectural styles and construction methods. The museum remains a major cultural and architectural presence on Central Avenue near downtown Phoenix.
