Chapin and Gore Building

The Chapin and Gore Building, located at 63 East Adams Street in downtown Chicago, is a historic structure built in 1904 for the Chapin and Gore distilling company. Designed by architects Richard E. Schmidt and Hugh M. G. Garden, the building features a blend of functional design and ornate terra cotta and brickwork, although some ornamentation was removed in the 1950s. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and became a Chicago Landmark in 1982. Today, it houses the administration of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and includes the Forte restaurant and café on the ground floor, making it a notable stop for both tourists and researchers interested in Chicago's architectural history.
