Aurora borealis visible over downtown Denver

Strong geomagnetic storms have produced aurora borealis that were photographed and reported from locations across Denver during historic events, notably during the March 17–18, 2015 storm. Photographers and residents captured green and red auroral structures above downtown and City Park, demonstrating that northern lights can be visible as far south as Denver under the right solar conditions. Aurora visibility in Denver is intermittent and depends on geomagnetic activity and local sky conditions.
