San Jose Diridon Station (Cahill Depot, 1935)

The current San Jose Diridon Station building, historically known as Cahill Depot, dates to 1935 and was constructed by the Southern Pacific Railroad as the city's principal passenger depot. The station's 1930s-era architecture and layout reflect early 20th-century railroad station design and the building has long served as San Jose's primary rail and transit hub. Diridon remains central to the city's transportation infrastructure and historic built environment.
