Socrates Sculpture Park

Socrates Sculpture Park is an outdoor museum and public park in Long Island City founded in 1986 by sculptor Mark di Suvero and community activists on a former landfill and waterfront parking lot. The park presents temporary and permanent large-scale sculpture and multi-disciplinary public art projects, public programs, and an annual artist residency. It operates as an open-access exhibition space that has launched numerous site-specific commissions by emerging and established artists.
