Prince Chun's Mansion

Prince Chun's Mansion, located in central Beijing near the Shichahai neighborhood, is a stunning example of siheyuan architecture featuring a lavish private garden. Originally part of a villa built during the Kangxi Emperor's reign, it has a rich history involving notable figures such as Heshen and Empress Dowager Cixi. The mansion was home to Yixuan, the father of the last Qing emperor, Puyi, who was born here in 1906. After the fall of the Qing dynasty, Prince Chun continued to reside in the mansion until his death in 1951. The site later became the residence of Soong Ching-ling, widow of Sun Yat-sen, and is now a public museum, offering visitors a glimpse into China's imperial past and the lives of its prominent historical figures.
