Commonwealth Avenue Wet Market

Commonwealth Avenue Wet Market, also known as Queenstown Market, is a historic site in Queenstown, Singapore, notable for being the last market designed by the Singapore Improvement Trust. Opened in 1960, it features a distinctive parabolic-vaulted roof and a façade resembling a traditional Chinese coffin, earning it the nickname 'the Coffin Market.' The market housed fresh produce and cooked food stalls on the first floor, with sundry shops above. Although it closed in 2005 due to declining business, it was gazetted for conservation in 2014 and is part of the My Queenstown Heritage Trail, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
