MaestraPeace mural on The Women's Building

The MaestraPeace mural covers multiple exterior walls of The Women's Building and was completed in 1994 by a collective of women artists. The colorful mural depicts women and community themes from diverse cultural and political traditions and is widely cited as a major work in the Mission District mural movement. It is publicly visible from the sidewalk and has been the subject of preservation efforts and community documentation.
