Oklahoma City National Memorial (Murrah Building bombing site)

The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum stands on the site of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, which was destroyed by a domestic terrorist truck bombing on April 19, 1995. The attack killed 168 people, including 19 children in an on-site daycare, and wounded hundreds more. Perpetrators Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were convicted in connection with the bombing; McVeigh was executed in 2001 and Nichols received multiple life sentences. The museum on site documents the bombing, the rescue and recovery efforts, and the legal aftermath.
