The Athenaeum (Das Deutsche Haus)

The Athenaeum, historically known as Das Deutsche Haus, opened in the 1890s as a social and cultural center for Indianapolis's German-American community. The building contains performance spaces, banquet halls, and a Rathskeller restaurant and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It continues to host cultural events and serves as a longstanding neighborhood landmark in downtown Indianapolis.
