Gilles Hocquart Building

The Gilles Hocquart building, located at 535 Viger Avenue East in Montreal's Quartier Latin, is a historic structure named after Gilles Hocquart, a key figure in New France's administration. This impressive building, which features three distinct sections including the Jodoin House from 1871 and the former École des Hautes Etudes Commerciales from 1910, showcases architectural designs by Louis-Zéphirin Gauthier. Once home to HEC and later Dawson College, it now serves as the Centre d'archives nationales, known as BAnQ Vieux-Montréal, after renovations by architect Dan Hanganu.
