Independent Turnverein

The Independent Turnverein, also known as the Hoosier Athletic Club and Marott Building, is a historic clubhouse located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Built in 1907, this architectural gem showcases Prairie School and American Craftsman design elements, including a striking red tile hipped roof and decorative limestone features. After serving various educational purposes, including housing Purdue University and Indiana University programs, it was transformed into the Turnverein Apartment Complex in 1983. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it offers a glimpse into the rich history of athletic and educational endeavors in the region.
