Central Post Office (Ottawa)

The Central Post Office in Ottawa, Ontario, is a historic building completed in 1939, showcasing a blend of Chateauesque and Art Deco architectural styles. It replaced an earlier office from 1876, which was demolished to create Confederation Square. Designed by W.E. Noffke, the building features decorative carved lions at its base and currently houses offices for the Privy Council of Canada, along with a functioning Canada Post post office on the main floor. Its location at the western edge of Confederation Square makes it a notable landmark for visitors.
