Ephraim Ward House

The Ephraim Ward House, located at 121 Ward Street in Newton, Massachusetts, is a historic two-story wood-frame structure built in 1821. It is one of the few remaining Federal style houses in eastern Newton and was constructed by Ephraim Ward to replace an earlier home built by his ancestor, John Ward, in 1661. The house features five bays, a hip roof, clapboard siding, and a central entrance adorned with pilasters and a paneled entablature. The Ward family owned the surrounding farmland until the early 20th century. This significant historical site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and local history.
