Stone Manse

Stone Manse is a historic house located near Caldwell in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, built in 1796. This 2+1⁄2-story Federal style dwelling features a striking gable roof and is constructed from local stones sourced from the Greenbrier River. An addition was added in 1833, enhancing its historical significance. The house served as the first manse for the Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg and was home to Reverend Benjamin Porter Grigsby, the church's second minister. It was recognized for its historical importance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004, making it a noteworthy stop for tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and religious history.
