Houston Texans began play at Reliant Stadium in 2002

The Houston Texans began play as an NFL expansion franchise in the 2002 season and played their home games at Reliant Stadium (now known as NRG Stadium) in NRG Park. The franchise's arrival brought a new NFL team to Houston after the Oilers relocated in the late 1990s. Reliant Stadium served as the Texans' home venue for their inaugural season and thereafter.
