Round About Hills

Round About Hills, also known as Peacefields, is a historic plantation home located in Glenwood, Maryland. Built around 1773, this charming 1.5-story frame house showcases a unique gambrel roof and features a long screened porch with exposed rafter tails. The property includes an 1820 stone kitchen addition and original slave quarters, reflecting its rich history. Inherited by Thomas Beale Dorsey in 1794, it later became part of the stagecoach town of Cooksville. Recognized for its historical significance, Round About Hills was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in Maryland's heritage.
