Peng Chau Theatre

Peng Chau Theatre, once a vibrant cinema on Peng Chau Island in Hong Kong, opened its doors on February 6, 1978, with a seating capacity of 499. It was inaugurated by Deacon Chiu Te Ken and featured its first film, 'Gang of Four.' However, the theatre faced decline due to decreasing population and the rise of home entertainment, leading to its closure in the late 1980s. Despite its historical significance, the Antiquities Advisory Board did not grant it a heritage grade in 2016, marking the end of an era for this once-popular cultural venue.
