Old State House (Georgian civic architecture)

The Old State House, built in 1713, is one of the oldest public buildings in the United States and an early example of Georgian civic architecture in Boston. It served as the seat of Massachusetts government until 1798. The Boston Massacre occurred on the street in front of the building on March 5, 1770; the structure now houses a museum interpreting colonial and revolutionary history.
