Ingles Bottom Archeological Sites

Ingles Bottom Archeological Sites, located near Radford, Virginia, is a national historic district that showcases human occupation from 8000 B.C. to the present. Visitors can explore a variety of archaeological sites, including a log cabin built in 1762, the home of William and Mary Draper Ingles, as well as a stable, cemetery, tannery, blacksmith shop, and tavern. Significant excavations have revealed artifacts from Native American villages dating back to 1250–1500 CE and over 30,000 artifacts from the late 18th century, making it a rich site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American history and indigenous cultures. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
