Revelle College and Roger Revelle (UC San Diego)

Revelle College at the University of California San Diego is named for oceanographer Roger Revelle, who played a central role in establishing UC San Diego and advancing oceanographic research and policy in the mid-20th century. Revelle served in leadership positions including directing research that contributed to the growth of Scripps Institution of Oceanography and helped secure federal and state support for UCSD's creation.
