Cupola House, Bury St Edmunds

Cupola House is a historic building located in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England, dating back to the 17th century. Originally two timber-framed properties, it was transformed by apothecary Thomas Macro into a shop with a residence above. The building features Baroque elements, including a distinctive cupola and an iron balcony, added by Macro's son. After serving various owners, including Clarke's Brewery, it was restored in 2004 and opened as a restaurant. Following a significant fire in 2012, it underwent extensive restoration and reopened in 2017, showcasing its rich history and architectural charm, making it an interesting stop for tourists and researchers alike.
