Great Bircham Windmill

Great Bircham Windmill is a historic Grade II listed tower mill located in Great Bircham, Norfolk, England. Originally established in 1761, the current tower mill was built in 1846 and features a striking five-storey structure with a unique ogee cap and four double Patent sails. The mill has a rich history, having been owned by various millers over the years and even becoming part of the Sandringham Estate. After a period of disrepair, it underwent extensive restoration starting in 1977, and today it operates with traditional machinery, including French Burr millstones. The windmill is open to the public daily from Easter to the end of September, making it a fascinating destination for tourists and researchers interested in industrial heritage.
