Eisenhower Executive Office Building (formerly State, War, and Navy Building)

The Eisenhower Executive Office Building, completed in stages between 1871 and 1888 and designed by architect Alfred B. Mullett, is a large French Second Empire–style federal building adjacent to the White House. It originally housed the State, War, and Navy Departments and later became office space for the Executive Office of the President. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is noted for its ornate exterior and interior detailing.
