James A. Farley Post Office Building

The James A. Farley Post Office Building at 421 Eighth Avenue was completed in 1914 and designed by McKim, Mead & White in the Beaux-Arts style. It served as Manhattan's principal post office for much of the 20th century and features the marble colonnade inscribed with the phrase 'Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night...'. In the 21st century portions of the building have been repurposed as Moynihan Train Hall and for other commercial uses as part of the Penn Station-area redevelopment.
