Barden and Ribee Saddlery

Barden and Ribee Saddlery is a historic site located at 473 High Street, Maitland, in New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1872, this former saddlery business became a significant part of the local economy and culture, with its current building constructed in 1888. Designed in the Victorian Free Classical style, the two-storey brick structure features original signage and serves as a testament to the reliance on horses for transport in the 19th century. Although it ceased operations in the 1970s and has since been converted into a restaurant, it retains elements of its original use. The site was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register in 1999, highlighting its importance in the region's commercial history.
