Aarhus Mølle

Aarhus Mølle, or Aarhus Mill, is a historic building complex in Aarhus, Denmark, with origins dating back to at least 1289. The main structure, built around 1700, showcases Baroque architectural elements and is part of a larger complex that includes a stable from the 1600s and a malt mill from 1782. Originally located on Vestergade, the mill was relocated to the Old Town Museum in 1928, where it now serves as an administrative center and workshop space. The mill played a significant role in the local economy, primarily producing malt and flour, and was a key site during the Middle Ages when private milling was prohibited. Visitors can explore the rich history of the mill, including the discovery of a rune stone during renovations, and enjoy the surrounding Mølleparken, which was created from the old mill pond.
